FOCUS AREAS OF AIRROA FOR 2024 – 26
( Voted in the AGM held on 20.4.2024)

Implementation and monitoring of each Focus Area will be coordinated by a Convenor with the help of a Co-Convenor and Volunteers

  1. Pension and Retiral Benefits : Render assistance in ensuring that retired officers receive their pensions and other benefits promptly and in full.
  2. Medical and Healthcare : Persue for securing optimal healthcare systems and medical benefits through negotiating better processes / terms with Railway Hospital Administration and advocating for uniform Central Government support in healthcare
  3. Family Welfare & Cultural Activities : Organizing social, recreational, and educational activities to enhance the quality of life for retired officers and their families like conducting regular meetings, social & cultural outings, or workshops catering to their interests / pastimes. Extending benefits and support to the families of retired officers, particularly in terms of bereavement support, healthcare, and inclusion in Association activities.
  4. Communication and Social Media : Facilitating strong communication links between retired officers and the railway administration, as well as within themselves Eg. regular newsletters, interactive website , updates on relevant developments / policy circulars , and maintaining a directory of members for networking purposes ; using interactive social media and IT means to help retirees .
  5. Associate Outreach : Actively engaging with other Affiliate Associations and other Pensioners Welfare Bodies as well as policymakers to influence decisions that affect retired railway officers. like participating in public forums, writing position papers, or collaborating with other organizations to strengthen their advocacy efforts.
  6. Finance & Membership : Plan for resources to fund and support all activities enumerated in the above six focus areas and also maximise the enrolment of retired officers in the AIRROA
